We’ve all heard that probiotics are important but do you know why? They balance out the microflora in the gut keeping bad bacteria in check while feeding good bacteria so it can thrive.
A short list of why Coconuts make for a great yogurt:
- Rich in antioxidants to fight against free radicals in the body
- Provides healthy fat for beautiful hair, skin and nails
- Supports thyroid function
- Helps you lose weight
- Reduces inflammation
- Helps kill yeast & fungi
Making yogurt out of coconut is a great way to preserve it as a live food with all it’s beneficial enzymes. It tastes amazing! Comes together in a blender quickly. AND it costs less than the store bought variety.
Check out my YouTube video for a step by step tutorial on how to cut a coconut and make fresh yogurt.

Add all ingredients to a high powered blender and blend until smooth, scraping the sides as needed. Pour in to a glass bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Set in a warm place for 12 hours to ferment. Ready when it smells sour like yogurt. Sweeten as desired or add it to your smoothies, oats, or parfaits. Enjoy!
